The Norway Jalsa Salana was held on 27th and 28th of October in the Leto Hall in Ullensaker 45 km outside the Norwegian capital Oslo. This was the 25th national jalsa since the jamaat was established in the 1950’s. Since the first year, the Jalsa has grown and this time around 800 guests attended the Jalsa from different parts of Norway and Scandinavia.
The Jalsa was inaugurated by National Ameer, Zartasht Munir Ahmad Khan sahib with representatives from the remaining Scandinavian countries, Sweden and Denmark. Naimatullah Basharat sahib, Missionary and Ameer of Denmark also represented Markaz at this blessed event.
Several non-ahmadi guests attended the Jalsa. Amongst these guests was the Mayor of Ullensaker Municipality, Harald Espelund; and several other councilors and representatives of major political parties, ranging from first time visitors from the local municipalties to long time friends of the Jamaat from the Oslo area delivering speeches and greetings to the guests, many of which emphasized their support to the Ahmadiyya mission and message of Love for All, Hatred for None. One such representative spoke on behalf of the Prime Minister of Norway who sent his good wishes and regards to Jamaat Ahmadiyya Norway.
During the two Jalsa days a several topics were covered in Urdu and Norwegian speeches, ranging from Sirat-un-Nabi, Islam and Terrorism, The Tarbiyyat/Upbringing of Children, The institution of Khilafat, The Existence of God; and a Presentation of the History of Ahmadiyyat in Scandinavia.
In addition to the speeches and programme on stage, every year the Norway Lajna Imaillah prepare an exhibition for the Jalsa covering a selected topic, this year being on Khilafat, hundreds of guests experienced the informative exhibition.
